The valve section of the transmission consists of a hydraulic control assembly, three two-way long-closed solenoid valves to control gear shifting, two frequency-adjusting solenoid valves to regulate the shift oil pressure, a pulse-width-adjusting solenoid valve to control the operation of the lock-up clutch (TCC), a start-up inhibitor switch, two speed sensors, an oil-temperature sensor, an electrical control unit and a 13-PIN connector, and an electrical control The electrical control unit converts the signals from the transmission computer (EGS) into hydraulic functions, and its sensors feed the signals into the transmission computer.

K1-3/4 and low reverse clutches, mainly responsible for the connection and release of the front planetary row planetary carrier to the sun wheel.
K2-3/4/5 gear clutch, mainly responsible for the connection and release of the input shaft to the intermediate planetary row gear ring.
K3-1/2/4/5 gear and reverse gear clutch, mainly responsible for the connection and release of the middle and rear planetary row sun wheel.


B1-1/5th gear and reverse brake, mainly responsible for the connection and release of the front planetary row sun wheel to the automatic transmission case.
B2-1/2/3 gear and reverse brake, mainly responsible for the connection and release of the center rear planetary row sun wheel to the automatic transmission housing.
BR-Reverse gear brake, mainly responsible for the connection and release of the center planetary row ring and rear planetary row planetary carrier to the automatic transmission case.


DF1-Forward low gear one-way clutch (inside K1 clutch), mainly responsible for the connection and release of the front sun wheel and the automatic transmission case, its inner ring is fixed on the case, the outer ring is connected to the front sun wheel, the working condition depends on the rotation direction of the front sun wheel.
DF2-Forward gear freewheel (inside K3 clutch), mainly responsible for the connection and release of the center and rear sun wheels, its outer ring is connected to the rear sun wheel, the inner ring is connected to the front sun wheel, the working condition depends on the rotation direction of the rear sun wheel.

 

Common Problems:
1, around 30km / h lock jitter, torque converter friction plate with the use of time aging, the coefficient of friction changes and slipping.

2, the current valve body is slightly unstable, especially after repairing the gearbox is prone to lock shock, go up 2 gears into lock, according to the situation can be replaced with a lock solenoid valve.
3, installed in the wrangler vehicle easy to report the solenoid valve circuit series of faults, because the big line through the gearbox is above, easy to wear and tear the skin to produce a short circuit.
