The transmission inner filter is a component found within the transmission system of an automobile. It is designed to filter out impurities and contaminants from the transmission fluid to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the transmission. The inner filter helps to prevent these impurities from reaching and damaging other transmission components such as gears, valves, and clutches.

Advantages of Inner Filter
There are several advantages of having a transmission inner filter in a vehicle’s transmission system:
Improved Transmission Fluid Quality
The filter helps to remove contaminants such as dirt, debris, and metal particles from the transmission fluid. By keeping the fluid clean, it helps to maintain its integrity and performance, leading to smoother shifting and overall improved transmission operation.
Extended Transmission Lifespan
Removing impurities from the transmission fluid helps to prevent premature wear and damage to internal transmission components. By keeping the transmission clean, the filter helps to extend the lifespan of the transmission, reducing the need for costly repairs or replacements.
Enhanced Transmission Performance
A clean transmission with properly filtered fluid can operate more efficiently. This can result in improved acceleration, smoother gear shifts, reduced slippage, and better overall performance of the vehicle.
Prevents Fluid Contamination
Contaminated transmission fluid can lead to overheating and increased friction within the transmission system. The filter helps to prevent fluid contamination, which in turn helps to maintain optimal operating temperature and reduce the risk of transmission failure.
The transmission filter is a vital part of that system and is situated above the transmission pan, which catches any excess fluid, and below a pickup tube that connects to the oil pump, which regulates the pressure of fluid in the transmission. The transmission filter functions as a sieve to collect contaminants like dirt and debris before sending lubricating fluid to the transmission itself.

Component of Transmission Filter Kit

The filter resembles a metal plate with slats, which is where the transmission fluid passes through. Inside those slats is a fibrous medium, which catches any contaminants before the fluid reaches the transmission.
The pickup tube, which connects the transmission filter assembly to the oil pump is also included as part of the kit.
The gasket ensures a tight fit between the transmission filter assembly and transmission pan, so no fluid escapes while it is in circulation. It is held in place by an array of bolts around the perimeter of the pan or may be designed to simply pull off with a little effort. These gaskets can either be made of cork or ridged rubber.
The last part of a transmission filter kit is an O-ring style rubber seal that ensures a tight fit between the pickup tube and the transmission case.

Transmission Filter Warning Signs to Watch For
Transmission filters prolong the life of the transmission by ensuring transmission fluid is free of particles and abrasives. However, there are a number of problems that can arise with the filter that reduce its ability to function properly.
Leakage
Leaking transmission fluid is one of the easiest way to determine your car attention. If transmission filter not fotted properly, it could result leakage. This leaks are more noticiable when your car moved from parked position.
Rattling Noise
If start to hear a rattling sound while driving, you should stop to check the transmission. If a defect has developed, it will either need to be replaced or the fasteners will have to be tightened. Generally, the rattling noise comes from filters that have become blocked with debris.
Contamination
The transmission filter is there to keep contaminating particles out of the transmission fluid. However, if the filter fails to keep particles out, the transmission fluid will quickly reach a point where it is too dirty to do its job efficiently. Check the transmission fluid regularly, not just for its level, but to see if it is clean.
Changing Gears Problem
Normally your car should shift easily into each gear, but if your transmission hesitates to shift, then there is most likely an issue. If you find that you are unable to change gears easily or you cannot change gears at all, a problem may have developed with the transmission filter.
Burning Smell or Smoke
When the filter has become blocked with the contaminants that it is designed to filter out, it can result in a burning smell. This is a problem that can go from bad to worse very quickly. In extreme cases, it can result in the scary sight of smoke being emitted from the engine.
Transmission Fluid Change
If you have a feeling that there is something wrong, checking your transmission fluid will help you test out your concerns. If the transmission fluid has changed from red to brown or yellow, this is a definite warning sign. If you notice varnish on the transmission dipstick, you may have a faulty transmission filter.
What Are The Steps Of Changing My Car Automatic Transmission Filters?
Using a drain pan, remove all the transmission fluid by opening the bolts of the transmission pan.
Using a scraper, pry off the old gasket from the pan. Always replace the gasket along with the new transmission filter.
Drain the transmission pan properly and remove the metallic debris using the magnet present at its bottom. After cleaning the pan, attach the new gasket and seal it properly.
Unbolt the transmission pan and remove the clogged filter by unscrewing its bolts.
Let the transmission fluid completely drain out and then only attach the clean filter by screwing the bolts to their respective location.
After replacing the filter, bolt back the transmission pan with a new gasket.
After replacing the components, refill the transmission fluid and check the vehicle for operations and leaks.
